Smooth Rimmed Cups
The smooth rimmed edges are a big plus for these blending cups. Breville went soft on the screw threads, making these the best blending cups to drink directly out of by far, even without a lid. For all the raving about the lids you’ll read, just as many people are incredibly grateful for the soft rims that make for easy drinking.
Keep in mind that there is a caveat to all this praise (there’s always a downside, isn’t there?). While they’re great on the go, the tumblers don’t fit well in most car cup holders.

As I’ve mentioned a few times, all of the components (except the motor base, of course) are dishwasher safe. This includes the cups, lids, and blade bases. But that’s not the only attribute that makes for easy cleanup.
There’s more: very few users report any leaking from this appliance, which tends to be a regular complaint among personal blenders. Mostly, that’s due to user error (overfilling is the number one problem, followed by overtightening, which messes with the seals), but you’ll almost never see the Boss To Go with this complaint. Its seals up nicely and serves its purpose!
If you do have any drips to deal with, a quick wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes to clean the base or power cord.
Alternatively, the dishwasher-safe components can also be hand washed in warm, soapy water.
For a third cleaning method, the rinsed cup can be filled with cool water and a few drops of liquid dish detergent after use, and reattached to the rinsed blade base. Blend or shake for 10 seconds. Never use hot water, or even warm water, when using this method. Steam can build up and may cause injury.
Regardless of the cleaning method you choose, whatever you do, Breville asks that you do not use citrus detergent. As mentioned above, the citrus ingredients in detergents can be abrasive to the tumbler materials. Smells great, isn’t particularly forgiving to plastics.
A Word of Warning

Techniques, Tips, and Tricks

Following their own branded recipes is suggested for a couple of reasons:
1. Overblending can result in less than perfect results.
2. Users should avoid running the blender for more than 60 seconds at a time. The heat friction caused after that point can increase the internalized pressure and make it difficult to open the container, or cause splattering.
Breville has included a convenient feature in this product to ensure self-preservation. It’s an internal self-resetting overload function to protect the blender from damage. If the container is overloaded or runs too long, the protector function could be triggered, and the unit will shut down. If this happens, unplug and let it rest for half an hour. The unit will reset and be ready to go again.
Following that, the best tip I can offer is to respect the Max fill line, and keep an eye on the clock when you’re blending!
